The Atlanta Braves saw a stellar outing from Mike Foltynewicz spoiled on Friday with a late inning bullpen collapse. They will look to get back on track Saturday when they continue their three-game set against the Cincinnati Reds.
Foltynewicz turned in a dominant performance allowing just two hits over seven innings while striking out 10. However, Jim Johnson couldn’t hold the lead in the ninth allowing the tying run to score with two outs on a wild pitch that eluded catcher Tyler Flowers. Jose Ramirez gave up a game-winning home run in the 10th to Devin Mesoraco sending the Braves to their sixth loss in their last eight games.
