Braves hold on for 5-3 win over Diamondbacks

Max Fried labored through five innings while the bullpen pitched into and out of trouble in a 5-3 win for the Atlanta Braves over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Braves got things started in the second against Arizona starter Zack Godley. Ender Inciarte singled home Johan Camargo with the two outs in the second to stake Atlanta to an early 1-0 lead.

Godley was replaced by Jon Duplantier to start the third and he immediately ran into trouble. A fastball ran up and in and hit Ronald Acuña Jr. on the hand to start the inning. Dansby Swanson the flew out to deep center before Nick Markakis worked a walk.
