Within the past three months, the Braves have hired both Andruw Jones and Chipper Jones to serve as special assistants. The longtime teammates will assist president of baseball operations John Hart and general manager John Coppolella.
Andruw Jones earned five All-Star selections and won his 10 Gold Glove Awards in consecutive fashion while playing for the Braves from 1996-2007. The Curacao native hit at least 26 homers in each of his final 10 seasons with the Braves. He completed his finest season in 2005, when he tallied 128 RBIs, hit a franchise-record 51 home runs and won the National League's Hank Aaron Award, which is presented to the league's best offensive performer.
