I scream, you scream, the Atlanta Braves scream for ice cream.
Braves president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos recently promised catcher Travis d’Arnaud that the clubhouse could have a soft-serve ice cream machine re-installed if they took three out of four games from the National League East Division-leading Mets this week. Mission accomplished by the Braves, who won the first two games of the series and then rebounded from a loss to beat Jacob deGrom on Thursday and secure their treat.
It sounds like a story pulled from the Little League World Series, but ice cream motivates at all levels.
