The Phillies got off to a quick start in the top of the first when Nick Williams singled with two outs and then Rhys Hoskins slapped a line drive double to center. Williams never stopped running and scored easily on a lazy throw from center fielder Ender Inciarte.

The Braves had a chance to score early in the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Tyler Flowers led off the inning with a sharp single to left and then Dansby Swanson went the other way to put runners on first and third for Rio Ruiz.
