ATLANTA, GA – A southwest Atlanta church can continue to serve the community thanks to the benefit of former Atlanta Braves All-Star Otis Nixon.
Thieves broke into the Beloved Community Church on Ira Street in Atlanta's Pittsburgh neighborhood on Feb. 1 and stole $2,000 worth of food from the pantry the church stocked to serve the homeless community and others in need, Fox 5 Atlanta reports. Two days later, crooks came back and cleared out the pantry, taking whatever was left, according to news reports.
"It makes it really disheartening to feel that people would steal from us when everything is free," Pastor the Rev.
