Braves finalizing deal to sign catcher Kurt Suzuki, per report

The Braves troubles at the catching position are fairly well documented. Tyler Flowers was reasonably able at the plate last season but struggled to catch opposing base stealers (to put it mildly). AJ Pierzynski was....not good and Anthony Recker was good in limited action, but is not an everyday guy and is certainly not a long term solution.

The problem is compounded by the fact that if the Braves farm system is weak in an area, it is at catcher. Joseph Odom could probably play a bit at the major league level but has a limited ceiling and the rest of the catchers in the system are either a long ways away or have their flaws.
