Even though the Braves’ had a highly successful season in 2018, that did not mean that there were not needed changes on the coaching staff...at least in the eyes of the front office. While the Braves moving on from pitching coach Chuck Hernandez was a little bit surprising for some, with the Braves’ bullpen struggling and some members of the rotation having bouts of inconsistency (Julio Teheran and Sean Newcomb), the Braves wanted to go in a different direction this offseason.
There were a ton of names floated to fill the position with Bryan Price, the Reds’ former manager having his name connected to the job more than once, and others rumored to have the Braves interest.
