Braves down Blue Jays 7-4 in Grapefruit League opener

The 2017 season officially got underway on Saturday for the Atlanta Braves who defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 7-4 in their Grapefruit League opener.

Atlanta trailed 4-2 entering the fifth before run scoring hits by Emilio Bonifacio, Jace Peterson and Anthony Recker gave them a 6-4 advantage. Bonifacio would plate another run in the eighth with a groundrule double.

Bartolo Colon allowed a run and three hits over two innings of work in his first spring outing. John Danks and Blaine Boyer got dinged for three runs and six hits in three combined innings.
