ATLANTA -- Weather prevented the Braves and Cubs from playing a scheduled series finale for the second time this season.
Heavy rainfall led the Braves to postpone Thursday night's game against the Cubs at SunTrust Park. A makeup date will be announced at a later date. The two teams are not scheduled to play another series this year.
The postponement was not necessarily an unwelcome development for the Braves, who were slated to give Max Fried his first start of the season. Fried was to pitch in place of Mike Soroka, who went on the disabled list earlier in the day with right shoulder inflammation.
