The Atlanta Braves did not meet expectations in 2024. They could be losing a key contributor in free agency, but his replacement could be on the trade block.
ESPN's Jesse Rogers polled 18 Major League Baseball executives and the Braves were among top vote-getters to trade for Chicago White Sox ace Garrett Crochet. The Braves would use Crochet to replace Max Fried if he departs in free agency.
"Members of our panel who picked the Braves see Crochet as a replacement if Fried leaves in free agency," wrote Rogers. "Atlanta and Chicago already have connected on trades since Chris Getz took over as White Sox GM, which could help in laying the groundwork of a deal this winter.
