Braves commit to pay minor-league players through at least August 31st

Kyle Glaser of Baseball America reported Monday morning that the Braves have committed to continue paying minor-league players through at least August 31st.

The Angels, Braves, Cubs, D-backs, Indians, Pirates, Rangers, Rays and Rockies have extended their commitment to pay their minor leaguers through at least August 31.

That’s now 28 of 30 teams confirmed who are continuing to pay their minor leaguers. https://t.co/VShZQif122— Kyle Glaser (@KyleAGlaser) August 3, 2020

Only two teams remain having not made any such commitment. Seeing as it really isn’t very much money on the scale of these major league baseball franchises, this seems like a no-brainer to give these players and prospects a true bare-bones amount of money to help pay for living expenses in the absence of a season.
