Braves collect more pitchers on second day of draft

The Braves selected right-handed pitcher Anthony Guardado in the third round (No. 89 overall pick) of the amateur draft on Tuesday.

Guardado is a 6-2, 180 pound prospect from Nogales High School in La Peunte, Calif., in Los Angeles County. He has signed to play for Long Beach State.

The Braves continued their trend of drafting high school players this year. Four of their five prospects selected on first day of the draft are prep players.

Guardado also played safety for the Nogales football team.
