The Atlanta Braves will make a roster move prior to Sunday’s series finale against the Miami Marlins. Infielder Rio Ruiz has joined the club in Miami. To make room on the active roster, Atlanta will designate catcher Chris Stewart for assignment. The team has yet to officially announce the move.
Ruiz has spent the entire season with Triple-A Gwinnett where he has hit .269/.321/.393 with nine home runs in 126 games. He has appeared in 58 games at the major league level over the last two seasons and hasn’t had a lot of success hitting .
