The Atlanta Braves were unable to sustain an early lead in an 8-5 loss to the New York Mets in Game 2 of their Memorial Day doubleheader.
The Mets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Adrian Gonzalez and a throwing error by Brandon McCarthy that allowed Jay Bruce to score on a Kevin Plawecki grounder.
Kurt Suzuki put the Braves on the board in the second with a long solo home run to left to cut the deficit to 2-1.
