The bullpen carousel continues to spin in Atlanta as the Braves announced Friday afternoon that Carl Edwards Jr.’s contract has been selected. To make room for Edwards Jr., the club sent Edgar Santana to Triple-A Gwinnett and designated Nate Jones for assignment.
Edwards Jr., who the Braves added over the winter, did not have a great spring but stuck around with the club at their alternate site and Gwinnett. He will look to bring some right-handed stability to the bullpen. Known from his days with the Cubs, Edwards Jr. owns a career 3.54 ERA with bigtime strikeout and walk numbers.
