The Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers opened the Major League Baseball season on Thursday wearing tributes to Hank Aaron.
The Mobile native died on Jan. 22 at age 86, and the two franchises that had the National Baseball Hall of Fame member in their lineups during his 23-year big-league career will be remembering Aaron throughout the 2021 campaign.
Aaron spent 21 seasons with the Braves – the first 12 when the franchise played in Milwaukee. Aaron played his final two seasons back in Milwaukee with the Brewers.
On the back of the Braves’ caps this season, the uniform numbers of Aaron and Phil Niekro are flanking the MLB logo.
