ATLANTA -- Right-handed reliever Chris Withrow no longer has to worry about going to an arbitration case before making his first appearance for the Braves. Withrow and the Braves avoided arbitration on Thursday afternoon when they agreed to a one-year, $610,000 deal. This leaves right-handed reliever Arodys Vizcaino as Atlanta's only unsigned arbitration-eligible player.
The Braves validated their status as a file-and-trial club when they went to an arbitration hearing with Mike Minor last year. They might have to go through this same process yet again this year with Vizcaino. Injuries have limited both Withrow and Vizcaino to just 56 innings at the Major League level.
