The Atlanta Braves avoided arbitration with catcher Tuffy Gosewisch on Wednesday when the two sides agreed to a one-year contract. Atlanta now has six arbitration eligible players and must tender them an offer by Friday’s deadline.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but Gosewisch was projected to receive a contract around $600,000 according to MLBTraderumors.com. The Braves claimed Gosewisch off of waivers from the Diamondbacks back in November to add some depth to the catcher position.
