Braves and Dodgers win NL titles, Tribe and Cubs clinch MLB playoff berths

The Atlanta Braves maintained their stranglehold on the National League East after claiming a third consecutive title on Tuesday.

Atlanta's 11-1 win over the Miami Marlins at Truist Park ensured the Braves sealed another NL East crown.

Marcell Ozuna hit two of Atlanta's five home runs, while NL MVP candidate Freddie Freeman had a homer of his own as the Braves clinched three successive NL East titles for the first time since claiming an unprecedented 14 straight between 1991 and 2005.

It was also Atlanta's 20th division championship – the most in MLB history.

The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed an eighth consecutive NL West crown and the number one seed through the Championship Series with a 7-2 rout of the Oakland Athletics.
