The Atlanta Braves already have unfortunately lost All-Star pitcher Max Fried.
It was expected throughout the offseason and became a reality as the New York Yankees surprisingly inked him to an eight-year, $218 million massive deal.
He may not be the only important piece of the Braves' 2024 starting rotation to pitch elsewhere in 2025. The Athletic's David O'Brien reported that Charlie Morton is unlikely to return in free agency.
"Charlie Morton began his career with the Atlanta Braves and hoped to end it with them, too," O'Brien said. "But for now, that seems unlikely.
