Normally, when you hear a pitcher’s name associated with the word “shoulder”, the news is very rarely good.
Fortunately, it does sound like good news in the case of the Braves’ Brandon McCarthy. During Wednesday’s game against the Nationals, McCarthy suffered a partially dislocated left shoulder while covering first base. It was a freak injury to his non-throwing shoulder, but it still didn’t look good. However, the Brian Snitker and the Braves had some good news on the issue after the game.
When the injury was announced, it was announced as day to day which sounds counter-intuitive when you talk about a guy’s arm coming out of its socket, but given how quickly the Braves came out and said this.
