Betts' 100th HR starts Red Sox's power surge

MILWAUKEE -- Mike Foltynewicz did not destroy what remains a strong All-Star resume. But the Braves right-hander's pride was dented as he experienced some two-strike struggles during a five-run third inning that provided the Brewers a 5-4 win on Friday night at Miller Park.

Foltynewicz retired 15 of the 16 batters he faced outside of the decisive inning. But he struggled to retire nearly each of the nine hitters faced during the third inning, which was highlighted by Tyler Saladino's two-run homer and Jesus Aguilar's monstrous three-run shot.

With Foltynewicz allowing more than two earned runs for just the second time in 17 starts and their offense remaining relatively silent until the seventh inning, the Braves suffered a fourth consecutive loss for the first time this season.
