Former Benedictine and Vanderbilt star Carter Holton has been assigned by the Atlanta Braves to join the Class A Augusta GreenJackets, the organization announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, Wednesday.
The standout left-handed pitcher was selected in the second round of the Major League Baseball Draft on July 14, with the 62nd overall pick.
He signed with the Braves organization for $1.35 million on July 17 and told the Savannah Morning News that week that it was a dream come true to be selected by his favorite team as he shared the moment with family and friends at his home in Nashville.
