Nov 22 (The Sports Xchange) - The Baltimore Orioles named Roger McDowell as their pitching coach and Alan Mills as their bullpen coach, the team announced Tuesday.

McDowell, 55, spent the past 11 seasons as the Atlanta Braves' pitching coach. In that span (2006-16), the Braves pitching staff went 905-876 and ranked fourth in the majors with a 3.88 ERA.

Mills, 50, spent the past five seasons as a pitching coach in the Orioles' organization, including the last two seasons as the pitching coach with Double-A Bowie.

The Seattle Mariners placed Tom Wilhelmsen on waivers for the purpose of granting the veteran right-hander his unconditional release.
