It was surprising when the Atlanta Braves signed Marcell Ozuna to a 1-year, $18-million dollar contract to replace Josh Donaldson in the cleanup spot in the lineup.
What was so shocking to the baseball world was that Ozuna was not able to command a longer contract and in recent comments made to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Ozuna seemed surprised, too.
He said if he knew his market would have been as poor as it was, then he would have taken the Cardinals’ qualifying offer of $17.8 million.
Ozuna also said his wish all along was to stay with St.
