Luke was selected by the Braves in the 7th round of the 2014 draft out of Westlake High School in California. He started his pro career with the GCL team for the Braves, hitting .262/.315/.376 with 2 home runs and 7 stolen bases in 166 plate appearances along with a 9/12 BB/K ratio.
The Braves bumped Dykstra up to Danville in the Appalachian League to start 2015, and his bat really played well before a late-season injury to Ozhaino Albies opened up a spot at second base in Rome while their starting second baseman, Omar Obregon, moved to shortstop to replace Albies.
