It’s been an interesting offseason for Luke Jackson. After a shaky 2017 season, Jackson was outrighted to Gwinnett after the turn of the new year. Now he’ll be given an opportunity to make it back to the big league squad after the Braves gave him a non-roster invite to spring training. He’ll have to have an amazing March for his standards in order to make the majors for Opening Day, though.
Another non-roster invitee to spring training this year is highly-regarded prospect Mike Soroka. He’ll be looking to gain some valuable experience after a great season at the Double-A level in 2017 and he recently told Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Herald that he felt like he took major strides last season because he was actually enjoying himself on the mound.
