On Wednesday, we got some extremely shocking and concerning news about Matt Marksberry. The pitcher went in to the hospital for a colonoscopy, but he had a seizure during the procedure and was placed into a medically-induced coma. Fortunately, Marksberry is now out of that coma and appears to be recovering now. That’s great news and here’s hoping that he continues to get better.
It’s that time of year again (if you care about it) — the time when ESPN Magazine ranks all 122 North American sports franchises in their annual Ultimate Standings. As far as the local teams are concerned, the Hawks came in at 30th, the Falcons swooped in at 54th, and the Braves brought up the rear big-time in 104th place — good for 28th overall in MLB.
