Sean Newcomb’s first four starts went about as well as they possibly could. However, he ran into the Houston Astros on Tuesday and this was probably his “welcome to the real world” moment. Newcomb ended up getting seven earned runs to his name over just three-and-one-third innings as the Astros eventually blew out the Braves by a nasty score of 16-4.
Even though the Braves lost in blowout fashion yesterday, they got great news when Freddie Freeman got cleared to return to action. He was supposed to be out 8-10 weeks, but he’ll end up only missing around seven weeks, which is amazing.
