As Atlanta Braves fans pondered, discussed and tried to figure out why GM Alex Anthopoulos dismissed Clark and Bridges 90 days after giving them a new contract, the team moved swiftly to fill the position. Here’s the formal announcement of today’s hiring:
“We are extremely excited to add Dana to our baseball operations staff,” Anthopoulos said in a news release from the team. “His track record of identifying major league talent is unquestioned, and we look forward to his contributions to our organization.”
Dana Brown isn’t new to the task of scouting and player evaluation and was rumored to be on the verge of a job with Atlanta amid the post-John Coppollela scandal in 2017.
