Gwinnett opened up their double header in a disappointing fashion by getting no hit over seven innings by the Bulls pitching staff. The pitching staff did similarly poor with Kolby Allard struggling to limit contact through much of the five innings in his start. Allard got in trouble early in part due to his defense. Emilio Bonifacio knocked a single to lead off the game and then following an error by Pedro Florimon to put two runners on Allard allowed the big hit in the game with a three run home run. Gwinnett did not take a single at bat in the game with a chance to tie it up.
