Sean Newcomb threw an absolute peach of a game - limiting a solid Indianapolis team to just two earned runs over seven innings while striking out seven and walking none. Newcomb needed just 88 pitches (61 strikes) before giving way for Elian Leyva who promptly gave up three more runs of his own and brought the score all the way to 7-5. Thomas Burrows pitched the nine and picked up his fourth save of the year - giving up a hit and an unearned run. That’s four straight appearances with zero earned runs for Thomas, but more importantly he hasn’t walked a single hitter during that stretch either.
