Kolby Allard’s strong start was backed up with big flies from Alex Jackson and Travis Demeritte as Gwinnett cruised over Rochester by the score of 5-1. Kolby’s solid season has been somewhat lost by a lot of folks. In his last nine starts, he has not given up more than four earned runs in a start and after Saturday’s start, he has five starts in his past nine where he has given up one earned run. His 3.80 ERA in the International League ranks third amongst all qualified starters as well. In the seventh inning, Jeremy Walker came in in relief and was excellent as he went three innings without allowing a baserunner while striking out five batters.
