Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap: Starting Pitching Dominates

Despite a good pitching performance from Bryse Wilson the Stripers could not hold on to a late lead, then fell in extra innings after allowing a big inning. Gwinnett got out to an early lead in the second inning when Adam Duvall drew a leadoff walk, advanced on Pedro Florimon’s single and then scored on a sacrifice fly. A Ryan LaMarre double and Sean Kazmar single added another tick in the 4th inning, but Charlotte came right back and held a one run lead after the sixth inning. A leadoff double in the 8th inning gave Gwinnett a chance to pull even in the 8th inning, and they did not waste any time as Austin Riley smashed a single up the middle to score Andres Blanco for the tying run.
