Gwinnett took advantage of a five run second inning to hold on to their seventh consecutive win and hold on to their league best record. Pawtucket jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but the Braves had an immediate answer with Travis Demeritte launching a game tying home run after Alex Jackson’s leadoff walk. Later in the inning, a three run home run from Jack Lopez broke things open in a big way, pushing Gwinnett out to a 5-2 lead. The Stripers then continued their home run onslaught in the third inning, with Adam Duvall leading off the frame with his fourteenth of the year to pull within one of the league lead.
