Gwinnett got the not good version of Aaron Blair on this day as Durham put 5 runs up on him and the Braves fell 5-3. Blair found himself pitching with runners on more often than not and the speed at the top of Durham’s lineup with Mallex Smith and Willy Adames was causing him fits. Blair’s inconsistency this season has been maddening as he has made 5 starts where he has given up 2 runs or less to go along with 3 starts now where he has given up 5 runs or more. To Gwinnett’s credit, the bullpen kept them in the game over the last few frames as Akeel Morris and David Peterson pitched three scoreless innings of relief.
