Lucas Sims was plagued by the long ball and Gwinnett’s impressive rally fell short as Columbus walked off in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Braves 7-6. The good news for Lucas in this start is that despite giving up 5 walks and 4 home runs, all of the homers he gave up led off innings so the damage was minimized. He was also pitching his way out of trouble (with some help from the defense behind him) reasonably well, but beyond that...this is a start that Sims would probably like to have back. The Gwinnett bullpen struggled as well with David Peterson giving up two runs including a homer and Mauricio Cabrera, who has struggled so far in 2017, giving up the game-winning double after hitting a batter in the bottom of the ninth.
