Gwinnett used some strong pitching and continued hot streaks from the top of the lineup to secured a 4-2 victory over Charlotte. Bryse Wilson pitched into the fifth inning and did well as he struck out seven batters while giving up two runs on three hits and a walk on 66 pitches. A name to keep an eye on is Jose Rafael de Paula out of Gwinnett’s bullpen. After another really strong outing on Tuesday, de Paula lowered his season ERA to 1.42 and has struck out 17 batters in 12.2 innings of work while walking seven. Corbin Clouse faced just a single batter before leaving the game for undisclosed reasons, so that is a situation worth monitoring.
