Sean Newcomb put together another weird though effective stat line, but the bullpen struggled as Gwinnett fell to Charlotte 8-4. Newcomb threw 100 pitches in four innings in this game without walking a batter which is strange in itself. A couple of errors from Johan Camargo (fielding) and Ozzie Albies (throw) in the second inning led to a couple of unearned runs and prolonging that inning and Charlotte was poking a fair number of singles into the outfield, but overall this was a decent outing from Newcomb. Sadly, Andrew Albers came into the game and promptly gave up 4 runs on 5 hits in 2.
