Gwinnett’s offense was unable to keep up with the Ironpigs, and struggled to get going early in the game. Gwinnett went down in order for three of the first four innings, but threatened in the 2nd before a caught stealing by Lane Adams ended a major threat. Gwinnett got their first run in the 5th inning, when Carlos Franco clubbed his 7th home run of the season to tie the game at 1 run. Franco has homered twice in a span of 5 games after going nearly a month without one, and his 18 home runs leads the system this season.
