Chris Ellis has bounced back nicely from a tough start to his tenure in AAA and Gwinnett won a rain-shortened game 6-0. Ellis was excellent for the game’s entirety as he gave up just four hits and a walk while keeping Charlotte from crossing the plate. He has now given up just 3 earned runs total in his past 3 starts after giving up 10 total in his first two starts at AAA.
Rio Ruiz’s most recent hit streak came to an end on this night, but Ronnier Mustelier made up for that with a multi-homer game. The homers were just his second and third of the year, but it was nice to see a bit of pop out of him.
