Kyle Wright had a poor start on the mound and it resulted in a 7-6 loss for Gwinnett. Gwinnett found themselves behind 5-0 after two innings and from there had to slowly chip away at the Knights lead. The third inning was a good start as they loaded the bases on two hits and a walk but the only run they could manage was on an RBI ground out from Travis Demeritte. Alex Jackson led off the top of the fourth inning with a base hit and then with two outs in the inning Sal Giardina hit his first home run of the season to bring in Jackson and cut the lead down to 5-3.
