It was not quite the welcome back to Gwinnett that Kyle Wright was hoping for as the recently optioned pitcher lasted just four innings while surrendering five runs and striking out just two. Wright gave up all five runs in a very rough first inning that culminated in back-to-back homers by the Knights. After that first inning, Kyle found his groove and just allowed a pair of singles the following three innings. The trio of Andres Santiago, Elian Leyva, and Corbin Clouse combined to blank the Knights the following five innings while striking out six, and walking two. Unfortunately for them, the offense could not mount a big enough comeback before ultimately falling to the Knights 5-4.
