It was a great performance by the Gwinnett pitching staff as four pitchers combined to limit the Knights to just four hits on the game, with none getting an extra-base hit. Aaron Blair scattered four hits in six innings, with only two singles coming in the same inning. After Blair came Evan Phillips who was able to escape a two one, and none out situation in the sixth inning. Akeel Morris and Enrique Burgos locked down the final two innings yielding just one walk to preserve the win for Gwinnett.
Offensively, Gwinnett got on the board in the first inning after Matt Tuiasosopo singled in Jace Peterson, who had walked earlier in the inning, to grab a quick 1-0 lead for Gwinnett.
