Alex Jackson’s two home run performance highlighted the Stripers offense in their six home run outburst against the Tides. Jackson was the man to put the Stripers on the board in the second inning, giving them an early lead with his solo home run to lead off the second inning. A couple of batters later Jack Lopez lifted a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0, and then Rafael Ortega hit a two-out, three-run home run to put Gwinnett firmly in the lead at 5-0. Norfolk grabbed one run back in the top of the third but the Stripers weren’t done in this one, with Ryan LaMarre’s two out triple getting a rally started.
