Austin Riley got a hit in his first at-bat for Gwinnett, but the Stripers fell behind early and couldn’t quite come back as they lost to Charlotte 5-4. After having to drive for most of the day to get to Gwinnett for the game, Riley singled in his first at-bat at Triple-A but also struck out three times in his debut for Gwinnett. Danny Santana, Sean Kazmar, Xavier Avery, Phil Gosselin, and Rob Brantly all had multi-hit games for Gwinnett, but the Stripers struggled with runners in scoring position (3 for 11) and just couldn’t sustain enough offense to rally for a win.
