The Gwinnett staff was on point last night with three pitchers yielding a combined four hits while striking out eight. Michael Mader, called up to make this start, went six quality innings - striking out three and giving up just three hits. Mader also induced 11 groundouts through those six innings featuring that slightly heavy fastball that has some sinking action to it. The lone run came in the fourth when Mader gave up a solo homer to Curt Casali - that and a double in the second inning were the only extra-base hits of the game. Following Mader was Luke Jackson who pitched two quality innings while striking out four and walking one.
