For the first time this season and just the fourth time in his MLB career, Sandy Alcantara gave up three home runs in a game on Friday as the Miami Marlins lost 8-1 to the Atlanta Braves to begin a three-game series at Truist Park.
The Marlins fall to 55-76. Atlanta improves to 82-51.
All three home runs Alcantara gave up were two-run shots. Travis d’Arnaud hit an elevated slider 402 feet to left-center field with two outs in the fourth inning to break up the Braves’ shutout and give Atlanta an early 2-1 lead.
