Luiz Gohara, once of one the brightest prospects in the Atlanta Braves system, has been designated for assignment to help make space for today’s new acquisitions.
That means that any team may claim him on waivers if they are willing to add him to their 40-man roster. If unclaimed, he’ll become a free agent.
In 2017, the big righty came to the Atlanta Braves through a trade with the Seattle Mariners along with Thomas Burrows, who’s currently with the Gwinnett Stripers. The Braves sent outfielder Mallex Smith and relief pitcher Shae Simmons over to the M’s.
